Arguably, the greatest man I ever knew was born December 25, 1940, in Charles County Maryland. At 84 years old, Bill passed away peacefully in his home in Nanjemoy, Maryland, on Saturday April 26, 2025. Bill was a lifelong waterman and farmer, avid outdoorsman, trapper, heavy equipment operator, and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Bowie and by his children Tina Marie Millar, Terri Lynn Doak, William Lewis Bowie III, Gary Lee Bowie, and Emory Lee Bowie. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. I wish we had room here for the many colorful stories we could share about so many of Bill’s lifetime adventures. Rest assured, there are many.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 9 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM. Interment Nanjemoy Baptist Church cemetery.
