Thomas Ratliff, Jr., 95, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1927, the son of Thomas Ratliff and Lucy Belle Taylor Ratliff.
Tom is survived by his sons Larry Ratliff (Joyce) and James Ratliff (Dawn), eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean Ratliff, his son Robert Ratliff and his brother Carl.
Tom was born and raised on a small farm in Corbin, Kentucky. His parents died when he and Carl were young and they lived with their uncle Jesse for a few years. He joined the Army and served during 1946 and 1947 earning a WWII Victory Medal and an Army Occupation Medal, Japan.
He was an AKC National Field Trial Judge for beagles and was an active member and officer of the Southern Maryland Beagle club for many years.
A private burial will be held at a later date. He will be interred at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
