Sierra Justine Johnson, affectionately known as ‘SiSi’, aged 30, was born on the 12th of October, 1995 in Oxnard, California. Her earthly journey ended on April 20, 2026, in Port Tobacco, Maryland.
Sierra was a remarkable individual who illuminated the lives of everyone who knew her with her sweet, kind soul and fierce love for her family and friends. Her smile lit up any room she entered and if unaware one might find themselves “poked”. She was known for her love of music, theater, and all forms of art. An avid reader, she enjoyed spending quiet moments curled up with a good book. Her love for animals was another facet of her compassionate and loving nature. An accomplished equestrian, Sierra teamed up with her mother and competed in local 4H horse shows and they traveled across several states as competitive trail riders under the American Competitive Trail Horse Association. She was a member of a local riding club, Horse Harmony OPRC, she had many friends and enjoyed the events she attended with the club. Sierra had a deep love and respect for Japanese and Asian culture which was influenced by her many travels with her family.
Sierra was born into a Navy family. During her first 3 years she lived in California, Washington State and South Carolina. She then spent 5 years in Misawa Japan with her family before moving to Charles County, Maryland where she completed her schooling in the Charles County educational system. Sierra graduated from Henry E. Lackey High School in 2014 and furthered her studies at CSM from 2015 to 2019. Her work experience at Tractor Supply from 2020 to 2023 equipped her with valuable skills and experiences that contributed to her personal and professional growth and introduced her to many lifelong friends. In June 2023, Sierra completed the CNIC Navy Security Guard Training course and proudly assumed the position of Officer Sierra Johnson with NSASP at Indian Head Base. She took great pride in her role and often spoke fondly about the camaraderie and support she enjoyed amongst her co-workers.
Sierra’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was her beautiful daughter, Aurora Justine Johnson. She was a devoted and loving mother who treasured every moment spent with Aurora. Their bond was a testament to the depth of Sierra’s love and dedication as a mother.
Sierra was an active participant in the Charles County Fair both as a child in 4-H and later as an adult, entering exhibits in the open category, she enjoyed helping people, she spent the summer after her graduation as a counselor for individuals with disabilities, she always stepped up with a smile to assist anyone that needed help.
