Rosemary Youngblood Obituary

In loving memory of Rosemary Youngblood, who departed this world on May 20, 2026, at the age of 68. Rosemary passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, a testament to the profound relationships she nurtured throughout her life. Born on July 23, 1957, in Washington, DC, Rosemary was the cherished daughter of the late Retha Mae Marshall and John Youngblood.

Rosemary's life was a tapestry woven with love, strength, and dedication. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Johnita Dent, and sons, John (Teresa) Dent and James (LaKeisha) Dent. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was also a beloved mother figure and godmother to Lekeivia Anderson.

Rosemary found immense joy and pride in her role as a grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Micsheena, Quayjon, Brandson, Brendall, Bryce, Brionna, Keamil, and her godson, Donovan. Her legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her memory and the values she instilled in them.

Rosemary was a cherished sister to Josephine Bynum, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her extended family, including aunts, nieces, nephews, and many others, were all touched by her warmth and kindness.

A woman of faith, Rosemary was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in La Plata, Maryland, where she found solace and strength in the community and fellowship. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, providing comfort and hope to those around her.

Rosemary's love for life was evident in her passions. She delighted in the simple joys of playing Bingo and preparing meals for her family, where her kitchen was often filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her lovingly crafted dishes. Her appreciation for music, particularly oldies but goodies, was a constant source of joy and nostalgia, bringing smiles to those who shared in her musical memories.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Charles Medical Center and Hospice of the Chesapeake. Your dedicated care and support during Rosemary's final days were invaluable and deeply appreciated by the Dent and Anderson families.

As we gather to celebrate and honor the life of Rosemary Youngblood, we remember her as a beacon of love and resilience. Her legacy is etched in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May she rest in eternal peace, her memory forever a blessing.

There will be a memorial service at La Plata Baptist Church on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 12 noon.
