Robert "Bob" Robie

Robert Robie “Bob” 75 of Accokeek, Maryland passed March 30, 2021, peacefully at his home.  He was born April 8,1945, in Erie, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Bernice Robie.  Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Sue Ann Robie; his Father, Mother, and Brother-in-law Raymond Sorensen.

Robert is survived by his son Michael Gross, and daughter-in-law Jamie Gross and his grandchildren John Allen, Michael Gross, Jr., Jailyn Gross, Brooklyn Gross and Peyton Gross.  Additionally, he is survived by his brother Donald Robie of Erie, Pennsylvania; sister-in-laws Dinah Griffin (Jerry) and her family Wyatt (Jennifer) and Matt Griffin (Jenny); and Tilda Sorensen and her family Justin Sorensen (Laura), Tyler Sorensen (Jessica), Logan Sorensen (Taylor), and many great nieces and nephews.

Robert loved to be with his family.  He and his wife Sue enjoyed skiing and taking trips before she passed in 2003.  Most recently, he truly enjoyed time with family, friends, and his cats who he loved dearly.  He especially loved his summertime pool parties grilling and eating crabs.  Robert was a master chef in the kitchen who loved baking cookies and big family dinners.  He loved his Washington football Sundays with his family, especially his cheese trays.  Robert was retired from the Prince Georges County Board of Education and was serving as an Assistant Principal of Oxon Hill High School at the time of retirement. 

Bob had a special passion and ability to mentor others which has had a positive impact on the lives of those who knew him.  Bob was always a teacher.  He was loved by many and will be missed.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 noon.  Internment St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Piscataway, Maryland.
