Ricky L. Gilroy

Ricky L. Gilroy, 63 of Nanjemoy, MD departed March 9, 2021.  Born January 11, 1958 in Washington, DC.  Son of Melvin “Mike” Lee Gilroy and Emma Loretta Jenkins.

Ricky was predeceased by his father Melvin “Mike” Gilroy and his sister Deborah “Debbie” Gilroy.  He is survived by his wife of 20 years Terri Gilroy, mother Emma Gyuras, brother Dennis Gilroy, daughter Katelyn (Austin) Gibbs, granddaughter Brenleigh Gibbs, stepchildren Mike (Michelle) Maringo, Nick (Lisa) Maringo, Katherine Maringo and 6 grandchildren.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Rick was a Navy veteran and worked as an Electrician for the Charles County Government from which he retired in 2006.  He is a life member of Ironsides Volunteer Rescue Squad Company 58, where he served as a past chief and past president.  Rick was a longtime fan of the Maryland Terrapins mens basketball team and rarely missed a game.  He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and hosting a crab feast for his family every year.

Family and friends to be received March 15, 2021 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ironsides Volunteer Rescue Squad P.O. Box 409, Port Tobacco, MD 20677.
