Richard Wayne Arbogast, (Dick), was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia, on July 13, 1950. He was the son of Dale and Rose Mary Arbogast. He is survived by his father Dale, Aunt Linda (Craig), older brother Bob (wife Robin), younger brother Brad (wife Patricia), children Rick, Philip and Grace, nephew Rob (Corin), niece Sarah, great niece and great nephews (Elodie, Samuel and Newt).
Dick was six years old when the family moved to the Charles County area in Maryland from West Virginia. Dick grew up and lived all of his life in Southern Charles County and attended local schools. When Dick turned 16 years old, he joined the local Marbury Volunteer Fire Department and later moved to the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department. After high school graduation Dick was employed at the Naval Ordnance Station, Indian Head as an electronics technician and later audio visual technician until his retirement in 2009.
Dick loved his home and community in Nanjemoy, MD, where he lived from 1972 until his passing on June 5, 2021. He enjoyed photography, and nature walks at the local parks in Nanjemoy. He also enjoyed listening to local bands and his Friday nights and evenings at Port Tobacco Marina with his ‘best buds’. He was a really good man who was a kind and generous person and believed in helping others.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department.
Dick’s ‘celebration of life’ service will occur on June 18, 2021 at the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department (4260 Port Tobacco Road, Nanjemoy MD) from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
