Rhonda McNicholas-Piegols

On Thursday, March 26, 2020, Rhonda McNicholas-Piegols (formerly Rhonda McNicholas-Follett), a loving wife and mother of one, passed away at age 63.

Rhonda was born on January 28, 1957 in Reno, NV to Wayne and Marianne (Donahue) McNicholas.  A hard-working single mother for many years, she provided a great life to her son, George McNicholas-Follett, while earning a Bachelors in Accounting from Franklin Pierce College in 1998 and managing several retail stores in southern NH and northern MA.  On September 19, 2009, she married Bruce Walter Piegols at their family estate in La Plata, MD. Both had known each other since childhood and were raised on the same street.

Rhonda was a social butterfly by nature.  She loved talking politics, religion and the latest family gossip with all.  A devout Christian, she volunteered regularly at church, helped feed those in need and loved her fellow man.  She was a staunch American patriot, she advocated for civil liberties, power of the people and respect for those who sacrificed to make our nation great. Quick to hug a loved one, forgive past transgressions and take interest in future dreams, she always placed family first.  She was a vibrant spirit who made the world a better place.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Marianne.  She is survived by her father Wayne, her husband Bruce, her son George, her three sisters, Noreen, Robin and Daveena, her brother David, her nephew Damien, and three nieces, Melinda, Alicia and Jessi.  

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7365 Indian Head Highway, Bryans Road, Maryland 20616. 

A Celebration of her life will take place at the church immediately following the memorial service.  A hearty appetite, laughter and appreciation for life are all that is requested of attendees!
