Reita Ann Galloway

Reita Ann Galloway, 49, of LaPlata, Maryland passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.  She was born on May 25, 1971 in Washington DC to Dwight Hunt Galloway Sr. and Gwenlyn R. Galloway.

Reita was a lifelong resident of Charles County Maryland and a graduate of Maurice J McDonough High School.  Over the years Reita took on many roles in her professional career as a licensed cosmetologist and equine trainer.  She was an animal lover and enjoyed the water, kayaking, boating, and anything outdoors.  Her greatest love was her children and family.

Everyone loved her for her quick witty humor, and her kind, giving heart.  Her presence and laughter were infectious.  She was truly loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Reita leaves to cherish her memories: her father and mother Dwight and Gwen Galloway; her son Joel Galloway; daughters: Alexis Jamieson, Aliyah Galloway and Antionette Knott; sisters: Cyndi Gatchell, Jaime Galloway and brother-in-law Chris Cartzendafner; nephews:  Justin Clark, James Galloway, Jaxson Vayro and Jacob Galloway, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be graveside on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Wesleyan Memorial Gardens (New Life Church) LaPlata, MD at 11 AM.  Interment to follow.
