Paul Edward Colborn was born on April 23, 1941 in Cabin Creek, West Virginia. He was called home to be with his Lord and heavenly Father at his home surrounded by family on February 2, 2022.
Paul and his younger sister Nancy were adopted on September 6, 1950 by Charles and Carolyn Colborn. He grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. His love of sports began at an early age playing ball with neighborhood kids. He played center for DuPont High School’s football team for four years.
His parents moved from Charleston, West Virginia to Indian Head, Maryland in 1959. He soon followed, and lived the rest of his life in Indian Head, Maryland. He married Patricia “Patsy” Colborn on September 6, 1964. Paul and Patsy were the proud parents of Helen, Geanie, and Shawn.
Paul was raised in a Presbyterian Church. He started leading his family in the Lord at Marbury Baptist Church in the late 1960’s. He became an ordained deacon in 1985 at Potomac
Heights Baptist Church, faithfully serving in this capacity teaching Sunday school, making weekly visits to families in the church, and other roles.
He was a union carpenter for over 25 years. He coached community soccer for decades. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who influenced and mentored countless lives through church, sports, and family.
He is survived by his wife Patsy, his daughter Geanie (Ronnie), his son Shawn (Diane), his sister Nancy, his grandchildren BJ, Tony (Blair), Brittany (Ranson), Tyler (Amanda), Mary, Mac, Shawn, Jr., and Jada and his great grandchildren Trevor, Ryleigh, Clayton, Wesson, Hope, Weylyn, and Wren and son-in-law Shaun. He is proceeded in death by his parents and his daughter Helen.
The family will receive friends at Potomac Heights Baptist Church on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 2 PM until Celebration of Life at 4 PM.
