We will greatly miss her smile, her laugh and spirit! We are grateful that she knows what it’s like to be genuinely unbound without pain.
Nancy Irene Long, “Nanc, Nannie,” 60, of Marbury, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home. She was born May 18, 1962 in Clinton, Maryland.
Nancy graduated from Surrattsville Senior High School in Clinton, Maryland.
In 1983 Nancy Irene Shoop married Kenneth W. Long Sr. in Clinton, Maryland, celebrating almost 40 years of marriage.
She is survived by husband Kenneth W. Long Sr., daughter Angela Long Irvine, son-in-law Pete Irvine, grandchildren Sophia and Alex Irvine; son Kenneth W. Long Jr., daughter-in-law Brenda Long, grandchild Kevin Long; sister Linda Shoop Daniel and husband Herbert Daniel, brother-in-law Matthew Long and wife Jackie Long, brother-in-law Steve Long, and mother-in-law Verna Long. She is also survived by nephews Christopher (Daniel) Swann, Thomas Scherer, Arthur Scherer, Adam Scherer; nieces Michelle and Christina Daniel; uncle John Harding and cousins Elizabeth and Molly Harding.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Joy (Adams) Shoop, sister Jan, brother John; grandparents Sadie and Paul Shoop and Mildred Harding.
A celebration of life will be held for Nancy in the Spring. More details to come from family.
