Nancy Karol Tregaskis Catlin

Nancy Karol Tregaskis Catlin of Bryans Road, Maryland passed away on February 20, 2021.  She was born on February 15, 1939 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the Late Russell A. Young and the Late Esther Anderson Young Thomas. 

Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie., PA.  She worked for several years at Woolworth’s Department Store in Erie, PA and as a substitute teacher in the Charles County, Maryland school system for many years.  At the time of her passing she was a homemaker.

On August 6, 1960 she married Robert J. Catlin, Sr.

In her spare time, when she was not taking care of her husband and family, she collected elephants.  Her collection includes over 350 elephants. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Esther Anderson Young Thomas, her father Russell Young, Sr. and her step-father, Leroy Thomas, as well as a brother, Russell Young, Jr. (Rebecca) and a sister, Elenora Tregaskis Gordon (John). 

She is survived by her heartbroken husband of 61 years and 7 months, Robert, her sons Robert Jr. (Marie). and Timothy both of Bryans Road, and a daughter Jacqueline Moon (Brendan) of La Plata, MD; four granddaughters, Crystal Wolfe, twins Annabelle and Emily Moon and Isabel Catlin; four great grandchildren, Brandy, Joshua, Teagan and Briella Wolfe; her brother Edson Tregaskis of Erie, PA; several very dear friends; Amy Kress, Melissa Bucia, Greg, Tammie and Biskit Prendergast; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM  with services to be held immediately after the viewing.  Burial will take place Friday, February 26, 2021 at 9:45 AM at Maryland State Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland.
