Miriam Avis Hepner

Miriam Avis Hepner of Indian Head, MD passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Hollywood, MD on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the age of 90.  Miriam was born on November 29, 1930; she was the daughter of the late Benjamin E. Lewis and Willie R. Lewis of Ripley, MD.  She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Cecil M. Hepner, her sister Norine A. Hepner and brother Bernard E. Lewis.

She is survived by her children Dianna Scott of Indian Head, MD, Dana Hepner (Lisa) of Mechanicsville, MD, and Rebecca Shelor (Steve) of Hollywood, MD.

Miriam is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Floyd, Gerald Scott, Jamie Hepner (Amanda), Melissa Hepner, Daniel Shelor and great-grandaughters Hannah and Kayla Hepner and several nieces and nephews.

Miriam was a homemaker and enjoyed singing Gospel music in church and other venues along with her husband Cecil.  Miriam loved and adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her through the many years of her life.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 11:00 am until 12 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
