Obituary
Mike Rodney Elder, 58, of White Plains, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2023. Mike was born on September 13, 1964 to Lyle and Juanita Elder in Washington, DC.
After Mike graduated from McDonough High School in 1982, he went on to pursue a career as an electrician. He studied for four years with Local 26 IBEW and earned a certification as a Master Electrician. He worked for several local electrical contractors and gained years of experience which allowed him to land a position with METRO as a rail car electrician.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed woodworking, mechanical projects and taking care of his beloved dachshund Sam.
Mike is survived by his parents, Lyle and Juanita Elder; two sisters, Lisa Chance (spouse Marion), and Angela Long (spouse Frank); nieces Rachel Webb (spouse Adam) and Leah Palmer; and two nephews, Travis Palmer (spouse Christina) and John Palmer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM, which will be officiated by Rev. Holder. Burial will be private.
