Marvin “Dale” Buchanan, 63, of LaPlata, Maryland passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 18, 2025.  He was born on September 26, 1961, in LaPlata, Maryland to to Gilbert Marvin (Gibby) Buchanan and Elizabeth Althea (Liz) Sydnor.

Dale is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kimberly Buchanan and his two children Nichole Deakins and Christopher Buchanan.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Isaac and Troy Deakins, Amirah and Damien Buchanan.

He is preceded in death by his father Gibby Buchanan, mother Liz King and brother Michael Roy Buchanan.

Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, classic muscle cars, and most of all spending time with his family and his little dog, “Joy”.  He had a generous spirit and always found time to help friends and loved ones.  Dale was a long time member the Mattawoman Rod & Gun where he was the club Treasurer for the past 30 years.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of his life at the funeral home on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 6 - 8 PM.
