Marilyn Bramell Obituary

Marilyn Groves Bramell, 70, of Indian Head, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021.  Marilyn was born on January 27, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Peggy Groves, and her brother Grady (Buddy) Groves.

She is survived by her children, Dean Bramell (Michele) and Jennifer Bramell (Charlie Hayes), and her grandchildren, Jake Bramell, Jared Bramell, and Kelsey Hayes.  In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her sisters, Glenda Wilkins and Sandra Cammaroto, her nephews, Robert San Luis, Grady Groves and Nicholas Cammaroto, her niece, Casey St. Clair, her close personal friend, Rebecca Lind, and many other friends.

She worked for the United Auto Workers in Washington, DC for 20+ years before she retired to enjoy her life to the fullest.  She was known to have a caring heart and she always took in anybody who didn't have a place to stay, no matter their circumstances.  She was a fantastic cook and baker and she always cooked enough to feed an army!  She was known to love with her whole being, sometimes to a fault.  You would never find her without her lipstick on or without her hair and nails done.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life.  She spoiled them and loved to listen and laugh with them.  It was rare that you would drive by her house when the weather was nice and not see her on her deck with family and friends enjoying crabs and cold beer.  She always said that the best times in her life were when she was at the beach or by her parent’s pool with her family.  She will be missed terribly but she is no longer suffering.  She has earned her wings and is reminiscing with her parents and brother and watching over her family and friends.  Our hearts are broken but we know she is now at peace.

Per her request, the family will be holding a celebration of her life in the near future where they will memorialize a magnificent mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.  Details will be provided when plans are finalized.
