Maria Lynn Saucedo Obituary

Maria Lynn Saucedo, 44, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on October 22, 2024 after battling advanced breast cancer. Maria was known for her love of reading, anything purple, and traveling the world.

Born on September 28, 1980 in Clinton, MD, Maria was the daughter of Linda Saucedo (Gariepy) and Abimelec Saucedo. She grew up in Rockville and Damascus, Maryland.

Maria served in the United States Marine Corps on active duty from 2003 to 2009. She served as a supply clerk in Okinawa, Japan and Albany, Georgia. She then became a Marine Security Guard and served in Finland, Honduras, and Egypt. She remained in the reserves until 2021 and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Maria also worked with the Humane Society of America’s Pets For Life organization where her mapmaking skills and love of foster huskies and kittens were in equally high demand.

In addition to her parents, Maria is survived by her maternal grandmother Mary Gariepy (Adams), her aunt, Cynthia Gariepy, and her siblings Laura Downey (Saucedo), and Justin Saucedo. She is also survived by her beloved nephews, nieces, and extended family.

The family invites you to join them in a celebration of her life on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Iglesia del Nazareno de Restauración 14819 Old Hanover Rd, Upperco, MD 21155.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Humane Society of the United States (humanesociety.org).
