Margaret Ellen Short of Indian Head, MD passed away peacefully on Friday September 5, 2025.  She was born on February 19, 1954 in Washington, DC to the late Edward and Ellen Harris.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Margaret enjoyed writing poetry, reading her Bible, watching classic reruns and spending time with family.  She had a heart of gold, an infectious laugh and always thought of others.  

She is survived by her husband Gerald Short, daughter Marie Clarke, son Gerald Short Jr. (Amanda), grandchildren Diana Blackwell (Austin), Samantha Carter (Taylor III), Christopher Clarke, Gerald Short III and Piper Short, brother Richard Harris (Cindy), in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her loving parents Edward and Ellen Harris, her son Raymond Sullivan III, and brother Edward Harris Jr. 

The family will receive friends on Friday September 12, 2025, at the funeral home from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 12 PM.  Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
