Loretta Regina Gray, 94, of Marbury, MD passed away on September 11, 2023 at Hospice of Charles County.

Loretta was born October 16,1928 in Washington, D.C. to Regina Kehoe. Loretta married the love of her life Herbert Gray on September 18, 1949 and they lived together in Marbury for 73 years.

Loretta was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, two children Herbert Jr. & Russell and her sister Marie Albrittain. She is survived by her children, Anne (Bill), Donna, Victor (Cathy), Gloria (William), Katrina and Dwayne (Tina); ten grandchildren, Maryanne, Herby, Ryan, William, Blair, Kristen, Jessica, Shane, Sara & Chelsea; and 14 great-grandchildren (Brett, Troy, Taylor, Ashley, Aiden, Liam, Gracie, Amber, Emma, Cian, Sadie, Abby, Claire and Reese). What a blessing it was for Loretta to meet her two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter and Tate.

Loretta was a homemaker, but she did work for her husband’s meat business in DC and at Ely’s Department store in Indian Head. You could always find Loretta when she was at work by her infectious laugh across the aisle. She loved bowling and bowled on the senior league for over 30 years. 

Loretta raised 8 children and helped raise all of her grandchildren. Family was her greatest joy. She was a wonderful cook and always had plenty to eat for whoever came by. Her love for all of us was immense and she NEVER missed anything for family!  She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea church in Indian Head for over 70 years.  She was the backbone of our faith - Thank you God for our Mother and Grandmother!
