June “Nana June” Alois Cross, 88 of Indian Head, Maryland died July 10, 2022. June was born on June 6, 1934 and raised in Southwest, DC.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Ellie Miller, her husband William “Billy” H. Cross, sisters Ellie and Francis and grandchild David P. Zuppinger.
She is survived by her sisters: Martha Greene and Mary Lee Eustis; daughters: Patricia Clancy (Dennis), Judy Halloran (Marty), Christine Howie, Rhonda Zuppinger, & Nancy Dulin; fourteen grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and twelve grandchildren.
June was a Clerical Administrator for the Federal Government. Her hobbies included bowler, seamstress, anthophile. June was a long-time resident of Charles County. June attended Jefferson Junior High School as well as Eastern High School. Dementia may have taken her voice but she remained humorous and witty till the end of her life. She lived for family gatherings and cream cheese danishes. She will be remembered and missed by many, near and far. After over thirty years she was reunited in heaven with her loving husband Billy Cross.
Funeral services ill be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 1 PM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland. Arrive at the cemetery at 12:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Hospice of Charles County.
