Joyce Hart-Savoy Obituary

Joyce Ann Hart-Savoy, of Temple Hills, Maryland, beloved wife, loving mother, and a proud grandmother passed in her home from this life into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Joyce was born on July 29, 1963, in Washington, DC to the parents of Robert and Mary Agnes Hart.  Joyce attended Potomac Senior High School in Oxon Hill, MD, and later earned an Associate Degree in Early Childhood from The University of Phoenix in 2015. For many years, Joyce was dedicated to the family business, and her first job was working as a supervisor at Hartco Janitorial Services, as well as earning the title of chef at Mary’s Heavenly Restaurant.  Joyce was an achiever, so she explored other outside options to obtain more business skills. This knowledge landed her a position as McDonald’s Manager in Prince Georges County.  Led by the Holy Spirit, Joyce pursed her passion for the love of working with children and thereafter opened, Mrs. Joyce Day Care Services, her very own home-based business.

Joyce married her best friend and love of her life, Carl Lewis Savoy and from this beautiful union, two children were born, Carla Renee Hart and Carl Lewis Savoy Jr.  Joyce loved to spend quality time talking, talking, and talking about the word of God and His Goodness, with everyone especially with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She cherished every moment and spoke about it to all that crossed her path, especially when she visited her physicians.  She had a heart of gold and enough love to spread to everyone she met. Joyce had the love of Jesus and a thirst that kept her seeking Him daily.

Joyce is predeceased by her father, Robert, and mother Mary Hart, two brothers, Melvin Hart and Jeff Johnson Jr., three sisters, Maryann Hart, Julie Ann Hart, Janet Hart Stepney, one niece Honda Hart and two brother-in-laws Clifton Stepney and Tony Hudson, grandparents, Norman S. Sr., and Mary Annabelle Owens, aunt, Shirlene Owens and uncle, Larry G. Owens.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Carl Lewis Savoy; children, Carla Renee Hart and Carl Lewis Savoy Jr., daughter-in-law Nikkia King-Savoy, grandchildren, Amiyah Cheyann’e Tinch, Rakiyah LeAnne Ayers, Sariyah Arianne Ayers and Camdyn Maurice Savoy, brothers and sisters, Rose Mary Cobey Hudson, Roland Johnson, (Jeneita Johnson), Mary Hart, Hazel Hart, James Hart, Perry Hart, (Priscilla Hart), a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close relatives, family and friends.
