John "Johnny" Wayne Overton, Sr. Obituary
John "Johnny" Wayne Overton Sr., 76, of Indian Head, Maryland died January 2, 2024 at his home.
He was born in Washington, D.C. on February 19, 1947 to Marvin and Martha Overton.
He joined the Army in 1964 serving overseas during the Vietnam War receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He married his wife, Linda in 1969 and they have celebrated 55 long years together. They had four children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
After serving his country, he became a CDL truck driver for Besche Oil Company along with doing mechanic work. He enjoyed working on vehicles and helping others.
He is preceded in death by his son, John Wayne Michael Overton Jr. in addition to his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Overton; sons Robert Overton of South Carolina, Kevin Overton of New York, and Christopher Overton of La Plata; sisters Melody Seymour of Clinton, Linda Duggins of Fredericksburg, VA, and Beth Tucker of Spotsylvania, VA.
