John T. Overstreet went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 15, 2026. John was born December 19, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas, to John H. Overstreet and Rosalie H. Gorman.
The family moved to Indian Head, Maryland in 1969. John was a graduate of Lackey High School. He was drafted into the U. S. Army. Upon his completion of his service, John started his own long haul trucking company, Overstreet Trucking. John was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of La Plata.
John leaves behind his sister Theresa (Kris) Killsprettyenemy, nephew Robert (Sheila) Overstreet, niece Patricia Overstreet, nephew Michael Overstreet, and niece Charon and great-niece Cassidy Overstreet and great-great nephew Waylon. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Rosalie Overstreet and his brother Stephen Overstreet. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM until time of funeral service at 12:00 PM. The burial will be at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery on Monday, April 13, 2025 at 9:45 AM, those wishing to attend should arrive at 9:30 AM
