Jeremy Deaton Bicknell was born at Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, Maryland on September 12, 1986. He loved swimming, playing soccer, riding bikes, playing cards, board games, and video games with his friends and family. He also loved playing with his pet cats. Most summers, family vacations to Higgins Lake, Michigan were enjoyed. Growing up, Jeremy was quite the dare-devil. For his 18th birthday, the whole family went sky diving! He graduated from McDonough High School June 2004. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowie State University in December 2019.

As an adult, he struggled with addiction to alcohol. He was very close especially to his father, and was called upon to help with mowing, cutting up trees for firewood, changing the oil in the cars shoveling dirt and mulch, power washing the siding on the house, shoveling snow, cooking on the grill among other chores. He was close to completing his Master’s degree when he died suddenly at age 39 on July 11, 2026. He will be remembered as a thoughtful, strong and caring young man loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Art and Diane, and sisters, Tracy and Adrienne, sister-in law, Nicole, and nieces Bianca and Samantha.

Jeremy, we are hoping to see you again for all eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus, in heaven and on the new earth when Jesus returns, and “he will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away,” Revelation 21:4.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7365 Indian Head Hwy, Bryans Road, MD 20616 on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The family will receive friends at 10 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM and a meal at 12:00 noon.
