Irma Cruz, a cherished resident of Indian Head, Maryland, departed this life on February 26, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.
She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Lola Collazo and Ismael Tirado. Irma relocated to Washington, DC where she met and married the love of her life, Jaime Cruz.
A dedicated professional, Irma concluded her career at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD.
Irma's passions in life extended beyond her professional endeavors; she found immense joy in family, dancing, cooking, and the companionship of her dear dog Teddy.
She is survived by her children Bill, Margie, and Brenda; grandchildren Katherine, Billy, Jacob, Jenny, Michael, Lisa, Christina, Stephanie, Alex, and Sierra; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
Additionally, she leaves behind her brother Pedro and is fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Irma is predeceased by her husband Jaime Cruz, son Jaime Cruz Jr., grandson Anthony David, sisters Iris, Delia, Norma, and brother Ismael Jr.
Visitation to pay respects is scheduled for Monday, March 11, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Indian Head, MD. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March
12, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head, MD, followed by internment at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
