Harry "Biff" Grimes, Jr. Obituary

Harry Joseph Grimes Jr “Biff”, 64, went peacefully on to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2021.  He was born in St Mary’s County on January 6, 1957, to the late Harry Joseph Grimes Sr and the late Evelyn Anastasia Dominick Grimes of Tall Timbers, Maryland.  He was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Grimes and sister Valerie Marinelli.  He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shari; his four daughters; Tammie Mitchell (Jay), Amie Longfellow (Pat), Kellie Grimes, Sallie Farmer (Greg); his sisters: Harriet DiFilippo of Dublin, Ohio; and Roselyn Sitterle of Lodsworth, England.  He is also survived by 7 grandsons (Ryan, Noah, Dominick, Dylan, Malik, Alex & Micah), 2 granddaughters (Mylah & Claire), numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

Biff graduated from Great Mills High School in 1975.  He worked at People’s Drug Store (CVS Pharmacy), then moved on to being a Grocery Manager with Giant Foods for a while.  He retired from his career as a Bread Salesman working as an owner-operator with Schmidt Baking Company for 6½ years after being in the business under Wonder Bread for 24 years.

He was ordained as a Deacon in 1998 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Welcome.  He enjoyed watching the History channel, Nationals Baseball and Washington Football Team.

His main focus in life was his family.  He enjoyed any time he was able to spend with them, especially holidays. He could not stop talking, once you got him started, about how proud he was of each of his daughters. The grandchildren were the apple of his eyes, and Gramps enjoyed every minute he could with them.  His texting skills improved immensely after retirement as he kept up-to-date on ALL family members and matters.

A private memorial service with family will be held.  Memorial donations may be given in his memory to:

The American Cancer Society
First Baptist Church of Welcome, P O Box 107, Welcome, MD 20693
