Harold Jerome Pilkerton

Harold Jerome Pilkerton, age 70, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022.  He was born on March 10, 1952, the son of the late James Rudolph Pilkerton and Helen Elizabeth (Hammett) Pilkerton.

Harold graduated from La Plata High School.  He served in the United States Army from March 31, 1971 to December 12, 1972.  He retired from Andrews Air Force Base in 1995. 

He had many health issues over the years. Harold had a passion for music and playing his guitar.  He and his friends would get together any day of the week for a “jam” session.  He also loved old cars and motorcycles.

Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Rudolph and Kenneth Michael Pilkerton, his sister, Catherine Louise Burton and brother-in-law, Gary Gene Burton.

Harold is survived by his brothers, Lee (Linda), Richard (Janice); sisters, Margaret (Mark) Readey, Diane Readey, Pam Hooker and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers:  Merv Allen, Scottie Parker, Ted LeFleur, and Wayne Johnson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 11 AM until time time of funeral services at 12:30 PM.  Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland at 2:30 PM.
