Gregory Maurice Montgomery

Gregory Maurice Montgomery departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his residence in Cheverly, Maryland. Maurice was born to Yvonne Gaines and Gregory Montgomery on September 1, 1971 at LaPlata Hospital in Southern Maryland. He received his education in the District of Columbia Public School system, where he graduated from Phelps High School in Northeast, DC.
Maurice was known for his love of family, especially children. He would discuss any subject and always gave a different perspective. He was an artist and designer whom loved sharing this gift with others through his art and designs. Maurice always had a calm demeanor and a huge smile. He was lovingly referred to by the nickname "Feet Thang."

Maurice was preceded in death by grandparents Rayfield Simpson, John Kingsberry, Alice Montgomery and Jesse Keys. Left to cherish his memories are his loving parents Yvonne Gaines and Gregory Montgomery; his life-time partner Mary McGee; siblings Angela Simpson and Michael Simpson (Keisha); nephews Jeremiah Simpson, Jerrel Briggs, Tonjay, Thiland, Taevion, Tristyn and Great Nieces and Nephew; grandmother Constance Kingsberry; aunts and uncles Faye Fuller, Samuel Simpson, Terry Johnson (Al), Larry Simpson, Constance Keys (Rydell) and Kevin Simpson (Renee) and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11 AM until time of funeral services at 12 noon.
