Freddie Harrison Crouse, 75, of Nanjemoy, Maryland, passed away suddently on May 20, 2023 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Freddie was born on June 27, 1947 to Mary Willett and Paul Crouse. He was a lifelong resident of Nanjemoy, Maryland and attended La Plata High School. He retired from Indian Head Naval Base in 2000, where he worked for a contractor. After his retirement he started a family-owned trucking business, Backyard Trucking, with his wife. Freddie and his son Kelly worked there until his passing.
Freddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and watching NASCAR. Freddie gave selflessly not only to his family but also to his friends and will be sadly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Crouse and step-father Walter Wright.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Wright; his wife Carolyn Crouse with whom he shared 56 years; his sister Lucy (Bobby) Weber; his children Wendy (Lenny) Locklear, Tony (Erica) Crouse, Kelly (Amy) Crouse and Freddie Crouse; his grandchildren Brandon Gaylor, Brittney Gaylor, Daniel Locklear, Morgan Crouse, Amanda Crouse, Troy Crouse, Austin Crouse, Braden Crouse and Chaselynn Crouse. He also was a proud PawPaw to four great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandson on the way.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The funeral will be on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Maryland at 1:00 PM.
There will be a gathering of friends and family after the burial at Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department Co. 4 (4260 Port Tobacco Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662).
