Faye May Davis Obituary

Faye May Davis, 98, of Indian Head, Maryland passed away on August 9, 2025 at Green Acres Nursing & Rehab in La Plata, Maryland.


Faye was born in Gering, Nebraska on November 27, 1926. She graduated from Hastings High School in Hastings, Nebraska. On October 20, 1944, after only knowing him for six weeks, she married her loving husband of 73 years, George William Davis.


Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Nettie May; her loving husband, George William Davis; three sisters, Hazel Oellerich, Ruthie Stroud, and Shirley Dixon; and one brother, Earl “Buddy” May.


She is survived by her daughter; Cynthia “Cyndie” Faye Imler (Harry) - Spotsylvania, VA; grandchildren, Stacy Dawn Reedal (Michael) - Palmyra, VA, and Troy William Imler - Des Peres, MO; and great grandchildren; Hunter Davis Rose, William Stanley Imler, Wyatt Bharry Imler and Scarlett Wren Imler; Sisters, Bernice Keyte – Bellevue, NE and Phyllis Miketey – Bonney Lake, WA; Brother-in-law, William Dixon – Hastings, NE and many nieces and nephews.


Faye worked for several years as an Administrative Assistant for Howard Johnson’s distribution center in Bedford, Pennsylvania. She and George moved to Maryland in 1972 and she worked as a Technical Grants Assistant for National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1976 until she retired in 1989.


After she retired, Faye was very active with the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in Indian Head, Maryland for over 20 years. She was a member of Marbury Church of God and volunteered her time to do many secretarial tasks for the church. Faye also enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, baking, and spending time with family.


Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM, at the Marbury Church of God, 4825 Bicknell Road, Marbury, Maryland with Reverend Robert Buehler officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Park Hill Cemetery, in Marbury, Maryland.
