Erma Mae Fiedler Obituary

Erma Mae Fiedler, 72, died on August 26, 2020.  She was born February 9, 1948 in Cheverly, Maryland to the late Larwence and Sally Ricker.  She was the fourth of eight children.  Erma was the wife of the late John A. Fiedler, and her long-time companion, the late Patrick H. Long.

She is survived by her two daughters: Katherine Ann Hazel (Greg) and Shannon Kelly Bodmer (Rodney); five grandchildren: Tony A. Hazel (Victoria), Tatiana Hazel, Christopher P. Bodmer, Rodney B. Bodmer, and Alexis M. Bodmer (Bubba), three great-grandchildren Jaiden R. Bodmer, Aubree E. Bodmer, and Landon L. Bodmer; two brothers, three sisters and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Erma worked many years in the customer service industry and eventually retired.  She enjoyed working in her yard, going to church, reading her Bible, taking her dog Cleo for walks, socializing with her many neighborhood friends and doing crossword puzzles.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her kind, gentle and giving soul.  She fought so hard against cancer until the Lord brought her to her heavenly home and gave her peace.

There will be a celebration of life at the First Baptist Church of Welcome on Saturday, September 19, 2020.  Friends will be received at 11 AM until time of funeral service at 12 noon.  A repast to follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
