Donna McGuigan Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Donna McGuigan, who was called to her eternal rest on November 14, 2025. Born on June 15, 1962, Donna's life was a testament to empathy, vivacity, and fearlessness in expressing her views. At every gathering, her vibrant spirit made her the life of the party, and her strong opinions were always grounded in wisdom and compassion.

Donna leaves behind an inspiring legacy of kindness. She always insisted on not being judgmental, a lesson she imparted with conviction to everyone she encountered. Her wholehearted love for people and life were her most precious gifts, which she generously shared with all who knew her.

Donna's love for beauty was reflected in her passion for all things purple, her vast collection of unique earrings, her fashionable hats, and her impeccable sense of style. Her unique fashion sense was a reflection not just of her personality, but of her belief in the beauty of life and the joy of self-expression. Her appreciation for the world’s beauty also showed through in her love for music—spanning a wide range of genres—which brought her comfort, joy, and a way to connect deeply with the people and moments she cherished most.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her daughter, Krystol Sanchez; her granddaughter, Olivia Evans; and her dear siblings, Mary Kaye Haynes, George C. McGuigan III, Doug McGuigan, and Connie Jacobs. She is also survived by her extended family, including her son-in-law, Jeffrey Evans; brothers-in-law, Bill Haynes and Kevin Jacobs; sister-in-law, Martha McGuigan; and her beloved nieces and nephews—Jonathan McGuigan, Tyler McGuigan, James McGuigan, Scott Jacobs, Candis Jacobs, Jesse Jacobs, and Joseph Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. McGuigan Jr. and Peggy F. McGuigan; her brother, Michael McGuigan; and her cherished nieces, Billie Jo Dunn and Chrissy Haynes, whom she now joins in eternal peace.

A Memorial Service for Donna will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Accokeek First Church of God.  The family will receive friends at 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM.  A Celebration of Life will follow afterward at the Accokeek Firehouse.

In the wake of her departure, we remember and cherish Donna's unique spirit, embodied in her love for her family, her distinct style, and her indomitable kindness. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to encounter her in their lives.
