Deborah Arlene Griffith departed this world on 25 November, 2019. Born to Mr. and Mrs. James Patrick and Ella Mae McKay of Washington, D.C. on 28 October, 1951. An alumnus of The University of the District of Columbia and Temple University (Computer Science) and, former employee of the US Army, Alexandria, VA, where she retired. She is survived by her husband Kenneth A. Griffith, formerly of San Juan, Puerto Rico and Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Daughter; Lisa A. Walker, Husband LTC (ret USA) Anthony Walker and Family - Jazmine, Anthony Jr., Gabriella, Darius and Jeremiah: Son: Kenneth A. Griffith Jr. In-Laws: Eloise De Quintal and family, of New York, Randal and LaVerne Alleyne and family of Upper Marlboro, MD, Bernadine Griffith of Dale City, VA, Leslie and Janice Griffith of Jacksonville Beach, FL and, Theodore Young and family of Kalamazoo, MI.
Deborah lived a full and enjoyable life traveling across the U.S. travels to Japan as well as Korea and the Caribbean. She mentored students at Henry E. Lackey H.S. assisting them in preparing for college. Known throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as Mrs. Coach, she assisted the United States Tennis Association, as a volunteer on several committees and at professional tennis tournaments in Washington and New York.
She was very active at the College of Southern Maryland in the Aqua Therapy Classes throughout the years.
