Dale was born on November 21, 1967 in Burnsville, North Carolina to the late Vernon M. and Ena Kate Riddle and went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2022.
Dale moved to LaPlata, Maryland in 1972 where he lived until the age of 13 when his family moved to the Operating Engineer’s Local 77 School in Accokeek, Maryland. This is where Dale’s love for cranes began. Upon graduating from LaPlata High School, Dale followed in his Dad’s footsteps and joined the Operating Engineer’s Local 77 beginning his career as a crane operator. Dale loved his work and spending time with his union brothers. As a child Dale looked forward to spending his summers in Burnsville with his Aunt Dot, Uncle Ben, and his “brother” John.
On October 9, 1993 Dale married Sandy (Collins) Riddle and on March 2, 1994 Dale became a proud father to his son Dale Riddle II (DJ). Dale shared his love of hunting and fishing with DJ, the two spent many hours together growing their love for each other and the outdoors.
Dale is survived by Sandy and DJ, his sister Rebecca West and her husband Miles, niece Jennifer West, and nephew Donovan West.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1 PM until time of funeral service at 3 PM.
Dale will be buried in the family plot at McCracken Cemetery in Burnsville, North Carolina next to his mom and dad.
