We are heartbroken to announce the death of Charles Robert Busey, most famously known as Chuck. Chuck passed away on February 28, 2024 after months of health complications following an allergic reaction. We are so sad to lose him, but thankful that he is no longer suffering, and is now in the hands of the Lord in the company of his beloved family, friends, and pets who have passed.
Chuck was born on October 21, 1959, the first son to Charles and Elizabeth Busey and oldest brother to Michael, Timothy, and Diane. He was the picture of a great big brother; protecting and caring for his siblings, while still leaving room for a little mischief.
Chuck received an Associate’s Degree from Prince George’s Community College in Radiography, but was truly a lifelong learner. His curiosity for life, science, history, and many other subjects inspired his children and those around him. Chuck had many passions in life, including being a talented musician with many instruments, singing, riding motocross, playing baseball, being a gun and knife enthusiast, along with many other passions.
His great love was for Chris Busey, who he was married to for 34 years. Chuck and Chris were the truest example of pure love and companionship, enduring life’s hardships hand-in-hand. His pride in life came from his children, of which his two boys, Sam and Mike, became United States Marines, and his girl, Holly, became a chemist. His children gave him three wonderful grandsons, Sammy, Dylan, and Zeke, who will miss him dearly. Known as Pop pop to his grandsons, Chuck was a fun-loving grandfather who supplied bikes, four-wheelers, dirt-bikes, go-karts, and more to explore the world outside.
His family will be holding a viewing and funeral on March 9, 2024. The viewing will be at Williams Funeral Home in Indian Head, MD from 10 AM - 12 noon. A funeral service will follow at Old Durham Church in Nanjemoy, MD, at 1 PM. A celebration of his life will be held after his funeral service at Old Durham Church hall with food and drinks. Music and companionship will follow at a location to be determined. Join us for good food, photos, stories, and music in Chuck’s memory.
