Charlene Luan Haynie, 73, of Bryans Road, Maryland, passed away April 12, 2026.  She was born February 16, 1953.

Charlene was a graduate of both Lackey High School (1971) and Frostburg State University (1975). Charlene then went back to teach Social Studies for the Charles County Public School System for 36 years, all of them at Lackey High School. She was devoted to her teaching and her students. She married Herman E. Haynie Jr. in 1978. After having their daughter Lauren, Charlene was a Girl Scout Leader, Band Mom, Teacher, Church Leader, and lived her life to the fullest. After retirement, she got into scrapbooking and traveled with her friends, the Scrapbook Mafia, annually, to the Outer Banks.

Charlene enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting, going to the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents David and Shirley Myers and sister Rhonda Frey-Wennberg.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Herman E. Haynie, Jr., daughter Lauren L. Roberts (Andy), grandchildren Emily and David, and stepson Herman E. Haynie III.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11 AM until time of funeral service at 12 PM.  Interment Park Hill Cemetery, Marbury, Maryland.
