Cecil Lee Rickett, 74 of Accokeek, Maryland, passed away from complications of COPD on March 24, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1950 in Washington, DC, to the late Leonard and Marie (Wilson) Rickett.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 55 years Judith (Wynn) Rickett, sons Edward Rickett (Natalie), Kenneth Rickett (Terri) and daughter Melissa Peterson (Robert), 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Siblings, Shirley Hill, James (Donna), Leonard (Cathy), Estel (Connie), Paul, Michael (Patty) Rickett. Brothers in law James Wynn and Willian VanCleaf, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his sons Matthew and Curtis Rickett, sister Peggy McGuigan, sister in laws Gloria Rickett and Tina VanCleaf and brother in law Sam Hill.
Cecil served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. He was an excellent carpenter and was a building engineer at the World Weather Building in Camp Springs for a number of years and was self-employed. He was a true Southern Marylander with his love of seafood. He will be loved and missed by all.

Memorial service to be held on Monday March 31, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Accokeek First Church Of God, 15821 Livingston Road Accokeek, MD 20607. Officiating will be Pastor Paula Collins. With a repast following at the Accokeek Fire Department Banquet Hall.
