Barbara Loraine Cockerham

Barbara Loraine Cockerham was born on November 9, 1944 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, August, 13 2022.  Barbara was raised in Bryans Road, Maryland and resided in Charles County Maryland for the majority of her life.  Barbara was a devout member of Marbury Baptist Church and was dedicated in her faith and love of God and family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Louis Mathews, mother Essie Burrell Mathews; husband, Daniel Eugene Cockerham, Sr.; brothers Jack Mathews, Wayne Mathews; and sister Juanita Coomes.

She is survived by her son Daniel Eugene Cockerham, Jr. Daughter-In-Law Lisa M. Shumaker, granddaughters, Ashley Cockerham, Lauren Balderson (Jeremy), Megan Allen (Mark) and great-grandchildren Brooklynn, Grace, Teenie, Gabriel, Amelia, Ashton and Spencer.  She is also survived by brothers, David Mathews and Bobby Mathews (Wanda) and sister Jean Rogers and sister-in-law Janet Mathews and many other loving family members. 

Pallbearers will be:  Jeremy Balderson, Gabriel Balderson, Matt Mathews, Christopher Shasho, Steve Cockerham, and Zachary Quade.

All services will be held at Marbury Baptist Church, 4670 Bicknell Road, Marbury, MD 20658 on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10.00 AM.  Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
