Antonia (Toni) B. Gallagher, peacefully departed this life on March 9th, 2025, at her home in Bel Alton, MD. She was 80 years old. Toni was born July 26th, 1944, in Brooklyn New York, to Michaelangelo and Elinor (Cunningham) Bartolomeo. She graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame high school in Washington D.C. She married David Gallagher on May 29th, 1965 at Mt. Calvary Church in Forestville, MD. Toni attended Strayer University where she studied medical transcription which enabled her to own and operate a medical transcription business for more than 40 years. Here she used her skills to facilitate communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals by ensuring accurate complete and accessible patient records.
Toni spent all her adult life volunteering her time through church and various community endeavors and helped shape the lives of many. She was instrumental in opening the Angels Watch shelter for homeless and abused women and children, taught religious education for many years, worked with various food pantries, and offered general assistance to those less fortunate throughout the communities she lived in. These actions instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of giving and serving others.
She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending precious times with lifelong friends, being an ever-present figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren, enjoying family vacations and get togethers alongside her husband Dave in their beautiful home in the mountains of West Virginia.
Toni is survived by her husband Dave and their 4 daughters, Victoria (Tori) Gallagher, Jennifer Meadows (Kevin), Erin Lyddane (William Bush) and Shannon Blackwell (Wes); son in law, Scott Lyddane; 9 Grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, Jackson, William, Nicholas, Luke, Ava, Michael, and Casey; 3 great grandchildren, Lorenza, Vince and Leo; 7 brothers and sisters and many other extended family and friends.
