Vincent “Gene” Patrick Cusack passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 22, 2017. He was born April 11, 1933 in Maplewood N.J., he was a twin and had 9 other siblings who have all gone before him to be with the Lord. He served in the Air Force for over 20 years and was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base where he worked as a Radar/Radio Technician on Air Force One. His career began with President Kennedy, and he served other Presidents until he retired in 1974. After his military retirement, he began a civilian career with the Marine Corp in Logistics and Amphibious Assault Vehicle development (AAV; AAAV).
Survived by his wife of 60 years Peggy, son Robert Cusack, (wife Irene), grandsons Robert Jr. and Ryan; daughter Mary Hashagen, (husband Mark), grandsons Myles and Marcus and granddaughter Morgan; daughter Tammy Moore, (husband Rob), grandsons Robie and Brice.
Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret Cusack and his 9 siblings.
The family has requested since he will be laid to rest in Arlington Cemetery at a later date, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hughesville Baptist Church “Music Fund” in memory of Vincent Cusack or First Baptist Church of Welcome in memory of Vincent P. Cusack.
Services will be held on January 6, 2017 at Hughesville Baptist Church. Visitation from 12:30 – 2:00 PM, Service begins at 2:00 PM followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall at the church.
