Shakida Diamonique Ford

On December 25, 2017, the Lord, in his infinite wisdom called his daughter home.  Shakida Marie Cunningham was born to Alicia M. Cunningham and Lonnie A. Gooding, Jr. on July 18, 1987 in Washington, DC.  In 1987 Shakida went on to live with Rev. Francis J. and Diane V. Ford and after a short time in 1992 she was adopted into the Ford’s family and her name was legally changed to Shakida Diamonique Ford.

She accepted the Lord as her personal savior, and was a member of Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Nanjemoy, MD.  She attended Prince George's County Public Schools, and was employed by Outback Steakhouse, Largo, MD.  She was also an active participant with the Beacon House Family of Washington, DC where her children are active participants in various sporting events.  She was an exceptional example of a genuine, devoted and sincere mother.  The love she had for her kids had no boundaries.  She was very funny, fearless, jovial, and an incredible fashionista.  She was an independent woman; who worked hard and partied harder.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her two amazing children Jazlynn Jahzara-Diane Penn and Jakari Amori Graham.  She is preceded in death by our Mother, Diane Virginia Ford.  She also leaves to mourn in her passing, her parents: Rev. Francis J. Ford, and wife (Elmarie Ford), Lonnie A. Gooding Jr (biological father) & wife Chaconda Burrell); Alicia Cunningham (biological mother). 

Also left to cherish her memories, are her siblings: Kim (Marcellus), Lawrence, Angela, India, Kontina, Gregory, Kee Kee, Christina, DaVon, Devon, Robert, LaKeith, Shantrell (Andre), Ronnie, Walter and Sierra, Issaiah, Tiffany, Oshae, Tyice, Miguel and Helena.  She also leaves to mourn her memory her nieces and nephews: Mckenzie, Donald, Armani, Dorothy, Larryiha, Kiron, Jayah, Heaven, Nevaeh, Shaunnae’, Alonzo, Jesse III, Devon Jr, Karter, Janita, Diamond, Timmiyiah, Kayle, DaVon, Demi, Damonte, Zyrek, Chyann.  Shakida also leaves to treasure in her memory her “Special Friend Michael Williams,” her Grandmother Marie along with a host of aunts and uncles and Godparents Tangie, Gerri, Jesse and Rickie.

A viewing will be held at Mt. Hope Baptist Church on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM.
