Jaime Cruz, of Indian Head, Maryland passed away peacefully at his home October 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Jaime was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico on May 22, 1937. He was the son of the late Carmen Maldonado and Domingo Cruz. He moved to Washington, DC in the mid 1950’s where he met the love of his life Irma Tirado. Jaime served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and was stationed in Korea. Jaime retired from NIH in Bethesda, MD where he received many awards and commendations for his cost saving suggestions and expertise as a welder. Jaime loved family, dancing, singing and making people laugh.
Those he left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Irma, his children Bill, Margie, Jimmy and Brenda; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, his brother Domingo, his sisters Olga and Nilda, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson Anthony David, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation is scheduled on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Marys Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Indian Head, MD at 10 AM. Internment Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
