Gary “Choo” Heath, 60, of Montross, Virginia, formerly of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly March 20, 2018, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
He was born October 8, 1957, in Aurora, Illinois, son of the late Harley Hershel Heath and the late Lela Gertrude (Pepper) Heath. His eldest brother brought him to Maryland, where he attended LaPlata High School and met many lifelong friends. He married his wife, Maria Makowelski Heath, in May of 1992, and welcomed their son, Harley Hunter Heath, in June of 2002. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hanging out with family and his many friends, and taking care of his farm and neighbors.
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his brothers and their wives, Ronald Lee Heath Sr. and Joyce Ann Heath, and John Douglas (“JD”) Heath and Kathy Jo Heath, brothers-in-law Alexander Makowelski Jr. (Lisa) and John James Makowelski, sisters-in-law Catherine Gray (Victor), Jane M. Staples (Steve), Elizabeth A. Schneider (Herby), and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, Indian Head, MD, on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 10 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.on March 27, 2018. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in Choo’s honor, for his son Harley.
Pallbearers will be Harley H. Heath, Ronald L. Heath Jr., John D. Heath, Alexander Makowelski Jr., Richard Chaney Jr., Steve “Smurf” Keene, Donald Payne, and Russell Taylor.
