Dora Blondell Anderson, of Waldorf, MD departed this life on August 5th 2018 at age 82. The daughter of Leamon and Bertie Jane Jenkins of Clarksville, TN, she was born March 2, 1936.
She was the widow of the late James Walter Anderson, with whom she had two daughters and son-in laws: Beverly Rohrbaugh (Roger) and Barbara Vermillion (Roy). She is grandmother/nana to Brooke McClellan (Steven) and Seth Rohrbaugh as well as step-grandmother to Shawn, Robert, Aaron and Mikayla. And is step-great-grandmother to Preston, Chase, Aubree and Layna.
She was the sister of Porter Jenkins (Janelle-deceased), David Jenkins (Susan), Ruby Blankenship (Ray), Katherine Brown (Lewis), and the late Betty Whitey and Kenneth Jenkins. Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In life she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She worked various places throughout TN, NC and Washington, DC but settled in Charles County, MD in 1964 – working at Mademoiselle Fashions, Mick’s Quail Inn, Holiday Inn-Maryland Way Restaurant, Whispers and retiring from Walls Bakery at the age of 60. She loved spending time with her family, friends and traveling to various states, Canada, and Ireland. She is known for her fun-loving laughter and dedication to praying and caring for others. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Charles County, MD. To honor her wishes, there will be no service.
