Mary Lee Smith

Mary Lee Smith, 64, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  Mary Lee was born December 25, 1952 in Charles County, Maryland to Frank and Edith (Hedges) Cotrufo.

Throughout her life, Mary Lee's sweet demeanor won the hearts of so many.  Mary Lee was often found spreading her entertaining sense of humor among her Indian Head Fire Department family, whom she adored.  She served her community, church and family with diligent perseverance and abundant love.  Mary Lee beamed with pride over her two grandsons, Kenton and Nolan.  The Lord blessed her with unwavering faith, witty humor and cherished hospitality, never missing an opportunity to shower cards on those she loved.  Forever changed by her love, she will never be forgotten.

As a clerk for Dash-In for over 25 years, Mary Lee joyfully greeted patrons with her warm smile and cheerful personality.

Mary Lee was a member of the Indian Head Church of the Nazarene, Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Indian Head Community Activities Committee.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher and her parents, Frank and Edith Cotrufo.

Mary Lee is survived by her son, Matthew and daughter-in-law, Erin; daughter, Melanie Webb; her sisters, Janet Fogle, Frannie Dyson, Betty Hellams; her brother, Frankie Yeager; two grandsons and one granddaughter and a great-grandson; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews; and many dear relatives and close friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Firemen’s Prayers at 7:00 p.m.  A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kenton & Nolan Smith Trust Fund, Hospice of Charles County and Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad.
