Deborah "Debi" Ann Higdon

Deborah (Debi) Ann Higdon, 58, of Indian Head, MD, passed away on June 6th, 2017.  Born March 3, 1959 in Smithville, Missouri, Debi is predeceased by her beloved grandparents Paul & Arita McWilliam and Jack & Maxine Boyle.  She is survived by her husband of almost 33 years Wayne, her son Michael (Alexis), her parents Richard and Sheila Boyle, her sister Julie Auterson (Merlin), her brothers Shannon Boyle (Teresa) & Michael Boyle (Ingrid), Aunt LaDonna Culver, as well as her nieces and nephews.  Debi moved to Maryland in the early 1980's where she met her beloved husband, Wayne, at Silver Hill VFD.  Wayne and Debi got married in 1985 and welcomed their son, Michael, in 1987.  After moving to Indian Head, MD, in 1985, Debi and her husband joined Indian Head VFD.  Debi was very active in the EMS division at Indian Head VFD, held various ranks, and is a current life member.  In 1996, Debi joined the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit and served various roles.  In 2006, Debi joined Bryans Road VFD with her son, where she remains a member.  One of Debi's proudest accomplishments, other than her family, was earning her certification as a National Registry Paramedic.  Debi faithfully served her community for over 30 years.  When she wasn’t volunteering, Debi enjoyed gardening, skiing, traveling, and spending time with her family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department (3099 Livingston Rd, Bryans Road, MD 20616), Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department (4095 Indian Head Hwy, Indian Head, MD 20640), and the Humane Society of Charles County (71 Industrial Park Dr, Waldorf, MD 20602).  The family will receive family and friends on Sunday June 11 starting at 2 pm until the time of the Fireman's Prayer at 4 pm at Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department 3099 Livingston Rd, Bryans Road, MD 20616.  Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the services.
