Barry Wright Obituary

Barry Eugene Wright, 58, of LaPlata MD died peacefully in his home on March 24, 2018.

He was a 1977 graduate of Lackey High School and played the saxophone in their marching band. In his youth he was a member of the Marbury Volunteer Fire Department.  He was also a member of the Marbury Baptist Church.

He was a general contractor.  He enjoyed hunting, but his real passions were fishing, crabbing and being on the water.  He was a good natured, warm hearted and social man.  He could strike up a conversation with anyone and he did, within minutes they would both be laughing.

Born June 6, 1959 in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Earl Calvert Wright and Sallie Baicar Wright of Panama City Beach, FL.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters Shari Grimes of Indian Head, MD, Kari Anderson of Woodbridge, VA and Valri Lightner of Laurel, MD; his bothers-in-law Harry “Biff” Grimes, Robert “Bob” Anderson and Eric Lightner; 6 nieces; 4 nephews; 1 great-niece; and 6 great nephews.

Services will be held on Sunday, April 15 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Welcome, MD and be officiated by Pastor Mark Hashagen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the
